See the entire path to your current file or directory with one click

I found this by accident the other day. I think it’s very useful. A secondary click (you know, a right-click) on the title of a Finder window brings a pleasant surprise.

Right click on the title of a Finder window

Right-click on the text at the top of a Finder window

right click produces tree dropdown

A dropdown menu of the entire directory tree appears

Seems that someone at Apple still likes the idea of a file system. It’s system wide and works within any application (MS Office, Preview etc) that has the working filename as the window title. Great for deep nesters who build 10-fathom directory trees (I know a few…)

Update
Works on Snow Leopard too…I wonder how long it has been that I didn’t know about this great feature.
