Send an email without seeing your inbox

Great idea from Merlin Mann. An app that opens MailTo: links in a new Gmail compose window. Solves two problems:

1)  You don’t want to see your inbox in order to send a message

2) If you click a link on a machine where you don’t have an email client, Mail.app asks to be configured.

To set the default mail application, you need to configure Mail.app to get to this system preference. I did that with my icloud account which is a dummy.

UPDATE 25/03/13:

This simple procedure doesn’t bring the email address from the browser to the “To:” field. An Automator app can only accept files and folders as input, so there is no easy way to pass the address. A quick copy and paste will take care of that, but it’s not quite as simple as at first seems.
