Science Fraud shut down

Seems that Science Fraud has made a serious impact and lawyers have gotten involved. The website is reduced to an explanatory statement about the shutdown.

It should be trivial for anyone that claims to be defamed by the site to illustrate their innocence, and obtain an apology, where appropriate. It would be most unfortunate if a mistake has been made. However, most of the examples of data manipulation that I have seen on the site were quite blatant. I applauded the fine initiative to expose frauds, and still do. Let’s hope that the team can deal with this legal threat. I expect that they are made of sterner stuff than the lawyers imagine. I hope that the site will be back up again soon. It’s for the good of the scientific record.
